Grab your leash and your furry best friend! Pillette Village BIA is thrilled to invite you to Paws in Pillette, a community street celebration dedicated to our pets.

We are taking over the sidewalks and opening our doors for a massive day of shopping, live entertainment, and pet-friendly activities. Whether you are bringing your dog, or just coming to enjoy the sights, there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy!

🎉 Festival Highlights Include:

  • Massive Sidewalk Sale: Shop local deals from over 40 Pillette Village businesses and pop-up vendors.

  • Junior Handlers Dog Show: Head down to Reaume Park (11:00 AM – 1:00 PM) to watch talented youth showcase their canine companions.

  • Live Entertainment: Enjoy the smooth sounds of the Jazz Cats and an incredible choreographed street performance by the 364 Lancaster Squadron Marching Band.

  • Pet-Friendly Fun: Enter the “Pillette’s Top Dog” contests, grab a Pup Cup at the Midway BBQ, or let your dog paint a masterpiece at our Paw-casso Art Station!

  • Community Partners: Meet the team from the Windsor/Essex Humane Society and get expert advice at their “Ask the Trainer” booth.

Host a Lawn Sign

Help us spread the word about Paws in Pillette! We are looking for neighbors to host a lawn sign in their yard for the month of May. We will even drop it off for you!

Junior Handlers Fun Dog Show Registration 🏆

Calling all young dog lovers! Register below to showcase your handling skills with your canine best friend down at Reaume Park from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Registration Details:

Registration fee: $10.00 suggested donation (all proceeds to Windsor/Essex County Humane Society)

Email your completed registration form to: hloricoulter@gmail.com (you will receive a confirming email in return)

Deadline for registration is: 6PM Wednesday, May 27th, 2026

Award information:
Certificates will be awarded for 1st-4th place in each category. The 1st place winner in each Category are invited to compete for Best In Show competition which occurs after Group competition is complete.

Important information:

  • Acceptable equipment for handling a dog in the competition: flat buckle collar, slip collar, martingale and a lead 6ft or shorter.
  • Unacceptable equipment for handling a dog in the competition: pinch or prong collars, harnesses, flexi-leads or muzzles.
  • Small treats or a toy which motivates/encourages your dog to keep their focus on you are welcome.
  • Dogs should be vaccinated, socialized and comfortable around people and other dogs.
  • Dogs should be clean.
  • Pick-up after your dog. Necessary supplies will be made available on site.
  • Harsh and inappropriate handling of a canine teammate will be reason for exclusion.
  • Basic instruction will be provided 10-15 minutes before each Group’s time in the ring to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for the handler & dog team.
  • Good sportsmanship is an essential part of dog sports. Feel free to observe and cheer everyone on! Remember regardless of who 'wins', we all go home with the best dog.
  • As this dog show is open to any dog, regardless of pedigree, it is intended to provide a bit of education and experience similar in nature to a sanctioned conformation show.
  • Judging will be done by a proper dog show judge whose decisions will be final.
  • Judging schedule will be emailed to participants 1-2 days prior to the event and will be posted at ring side. This email will have an outline of how to sign-in at ring side, get your armband # and instruction.

A Quick Note on Pet Etiquette:

All pets must be friendly, well-socialized, and kept on a leash at all times. Please remember to scoop your poop and respect the boundaries of other animals and attendees!
